Majestic Trophy Outfitters operates out of Conifer in Douglas County, running guided hunts across Colorado's prime game territory. Owner and operator Justin Gallegos started this outfit 25 years ago and knows the land and animals like few guides do. He's an Army veteran, lifelong hunting guide, and expert in elk, mule deer, bear, and lion hunting with a proven track record.
The operation is veteran-owned and veteran-operated—Justin's son Trey works as part-owner and ranch manager, also an Army veteran. This isn't a rotating staff; these are guys who've been doing this their entire lives.
Majestic Trophy offers both trophy and meat hunts across multiple Colorado units and private land:
| Hunt Type | Price Range |
|---|---|
| Bull Elk | $5,500 - $6,500 |
| Mule Deer Buck | $4,500 - $5,500 |
| Cow / Doe (Meat Hunt) | $3,000 - $4,000 |
| Pronghorn (Buck/Doe) | $2,500 - $3,500 |
| 3rd Season Combo | $6,500 |
Hunts happen on private land or under their national forest permits in units 3, 301, 12, 13, 23, and 24. Final pricing depends on hunt dates and availability—text Justin at 970-620-0998 for current openings.
They average an 85% opportunity rate over the last 15 years. They don't guarantee harvest, but they put you in position to hunt.
Depending on party size, you get three guides in the field. The ratio averages 1 guide per 4 hunters. Your specific hunt dates go in the contract, and you'll be asked to arrive one day before and depart one day after your contracted dates.
The outfitters handle field dressing, skinning, and transporting game from the field to main camp. They offer transportation to Mountain Meats processing plant for an additional cost. If you're concerned about CWD, they can arrange testing on request. If you want to keep just the horns and donate the meat, that's an option—though you still cover processing costs.
Trey Gallegos runs Droppin Skulls Tannery and Hide Preservation, so your trophy animals get professional care before and after the hunt.
Cabin accommodations are simple but functional: shower, toilet, beds, refrigerator, stove, cooking and eating utensils. Bring your own sleeping bag. It's described as historic and cozy, not luxury.
You're responsible for getting to and from the ranch. ATVs are recommended but only work in designated areas—any damage from improper use costs extra.

If you wound an animal and draw blood, your hunt for that species is over. This policy is at the outfitter's discretion and non-negotiable. The expectation is that you know your weapon, your shooting ability, and your limitations—and that both guide and hunter work to avoid wounding.
