Colorado Boots offers a tiered approach to firearms instruction:
Designed for all skill levels, this course covers: - Four universal gun safety rules: Treat every firearm as loaded, never point at what you won't destroy, keep finger off trigger until sights are on target, be sure of target and what's beyond it - Grip and stance: Isosceles and Weaver stances for stability and recoil control - Sight alignment and target acquisition: Front sight focus, sight picture consistency, moving target tracking - Trigger control: Smooth trigger pull, trigger reset technique, speed and accuracy balance - Loading and unloading: Step-by-step procedures for semi-automatic pistols and revolvers, speed reloading, tactical reloads under time pressure - Practical shooting drills: Slow fire precision, controlled pairs, multiple target engagement - Colorado firearm laws: State regulations on permits, self-defense, storage requirements - Role-playing scenarios: Situational awareness and emergency response training
Participants can use provided handguns and ammunition, or bring their own personal firearm to train with.
