Valley Gun Service has been operating in Southern Colorado since the 1980s, serving hunters, shooters, and collectors across the San Luis Valley and beyond. What started as a traditional gunsmithing operation has grown into a full-service shop handling everything from vintage restoration to modern tactical builds—all done in-house with professional-grade tools and years of hands-on experience.

One of the few shops in Colorado still offering traditional caustic bluing in-house. The process involves surface prep, polishing, degreasing, and immersion in a hot chemical bath that converts the metal surface into a black oxide finish. The result is corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, and considered one of the most durable and beautiful finishes available—especially for restoring heirloom shotguns, vintage revolvers, and hunting rifles.

Complete custom builds tailored to your intended use—from long-range precision rifles and hunting builds to tactical platforms. Valley Gun Service sources premium actions, barrels, stocks, and triggers, then fits, chambers, and tests every component to ensure accuracy and reliability. Precision threading for suppressors, flash hiders, and muzzle brakes. Uses precision lathes and professional-grade tooling to ensure cuts are made to spec with perfect concentricity. Muzzle devices are installed with proper timing and torque. Work covers AR platforms, bolt actions, and other platforms.

Meets or exceeds ATF requirements for NFA items like SBRs and suppressors. Engraving depth is typically 0.003" and delivered in a discreet, professional finish. Handles trust names, serial numbers, and city/state engravings.
