Green Mill Sportsman's Club operates a private shooting facility west of Erie, Colorado that caters to hunters, competitive shooters, and youth athletes. The club maintains dedicated ranges for different disciplines—rifle (25, 50, 100, and 200 yard), pistol, rimfire silhouette, shotgun, and archery—all on one property 3 miles west of I-25 Exit 232.
Range Access & Hours - Member shooting hours: 8am to dusk (30 minutes after sunset) - Law enforcement agencies can book night shoots until 9pm for qualification training - Covered firing line with sturdy benches and sandbags - Spotting scopes available for use
Hunter Sight-In Program Running August 30 through November 2 annually, the sight-in range opens daily 8am-5pm (including Labor Day). Cost is $20 for the first firearm, $10 for each additional gun. Range officers supervise to maintain safety standards. All shooting stops promptly at 5pm.
Ammunition restrictions: No armor-piercing, steel core, M855/SS109 (green tip), M855A1, or M856 tracer rounds. Test ammunition with a magnet before arriving.
The club hosts a youth program on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month for shooters under 19 who've completed hunter education. Contact the Juniors coordinator at [email protected] for details.
The club operates as a private membership organization with a waiting list exceeding 100 prospects. New members must be sponsored by someone already in good standing. Sponsoring members submit the candidate's name and their membership number via email to the secretary or postal mail. Visitors interested in joining can attend hunter sight-in sessions to network with current members.
