Green Mill Sportsman's Club is a private club outside Erie, Colorado, with rifle ranges at 50, 100 and 200 yards, a pistol range, a rimfire silhouette range, a shotgun range and an archery range for member use. Sporting rifles, handguns and black-powder firearms are permitted; fully automatic weapons and .50 caliber BMG are not. During its Hunter Sight-In event the club also opens 25, 50, 100 and 200 yard ranges with a covered firing line, benches and sandbag rests.
The club runs a Junior Shooting Program on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month for youth who have completed Hunter Education and are under 19. It hosts long-range .22 field matches and silhouette matches, and local law enforcement agencies use the range for qualification and training. Membership is by sponsorship from a current member in good standing.
Restrictions
- •Members only (private club)
- •No fully automatic weapons
- •No .50 caliber BMG
- •No armor-piercing or steel-core ammunition
- •No M855/SS109 (green tip), M855A1, or M856 tracer/incendiary rounds
- •Shooting ceases at 5:00 PM during Hunter Sight-In; 30 minutes after sunset for members
- •Eye and ear protection required at all times
- •Government-issued ID required
