Fulldraw Outfitters Elk Hunts

Fred Eichler and his three sons operate Fulldraw Outfitters as a full-time outfitting and guiding service across Colorado. Fred has been hunting with a bow since he was young and completed the Super Slam—taking all 29 North American species with his recurve bow. Beyond guiding, he's worked for Bear Archery, managed Arrow Dynamics (one of Colorado's largest archery pro shops), and created Traditional Harvest video series showcasing hunts worldwide. He regularly appears on the Sportsman Channel's Easton Bowhunting TV.

Fulldraw operates guided hunts for five species:

• •Elk – Archery hunts on private ranches with excellent accommodations. Terrain ranges from timbered slopes to open meadows and aspen stands. Guides use bugling, cow calls, spot-and-stalk, tree stands, and ground blinds depending on conditions.
• •Mule Deer – Available alongside elk hunts on many ranches. Many clients add mule deer permits to their elk hunts.
• •Antelope – Both archery and rifle hunts on private land.
• •Black Bear – Guided hunts using their proven methods.
• •Turkey – Spring season hunts with experienced guides.

All guided hunts include meals and lodging. They pick hunting areas based on seasonal elk movement to maximize success rates. First-season areas may not be optimal during third season, so they adjust camp locations accordingly.

Archery elk hunts happen on private ranches with solid meals and accommodations. Terrain varies from timbered slopes to open meadows and aspen groves. Guides are experienced bowhunters themselves who understand what bowhunters need.

Methods include: - Bugling or cow calling to enrage or tempt bulls into bow range - Spot-and-stalk when conditions allow - Tree stands or ground blinds near water sources during hot, dry weather

Rifle elk hunts range from high-country wall tent camps to lower elevation ranch hunts at 6,000 feet. They maintain quality leases and employ experienced cooks and guides. Many elk areas also offer excellent mule deer hunting—just let them know if you want to apply for a mule deer permit.
