Full description and what we offer
Nutmeg Firearms Training runs non-NRA-affiliated pistol permit certification classes in Hartford designed specifically for people who felt unwelcome in traditional gun spaces. They center marginalized communities, low-income individuals, and anyone seeking firearm education without the politics usually baked into mainstream gun culture.
Instead of the standard $150+ Connecticut certification class, Nutmeg uses income-based sliding scale:
| Income Bracket | Cost |
|---|---|
| Poor and working-poor | $0 |
| Working-class | $1–$60 |
| Middle-class | $61–$100 |
| Managerial/upper-class | $101–$250 |
You pick the bracket that fits your situation. No proof required—they trust people to self-assess.
