Urban Defense LLC

Urban Defense LLC specializes in getting DC residents through the handgun permit process. They handle everything required: DC firearms and self-defense law, defensive handgun instruction, and the two-hour range qualification component.

The complete program runs approximately 16 hours split across two classroom sessions and range time. You'll need to score 70% on the approved B-27 target course of fire to pass. It's structured as a defensive handgun class at its core—the instruction covers the legal and tactical knowledge you need if you ever have to use your firearm.

• •Private classes only at this time. You pick the dates, times, and location—Urban Defense comes to you or you train at their facility. The instruction breaks into segments however it makes sense for your schedule.

• •You supply your own firearm, ammunition (200 rounds minimum), eye/hearing protection, holster, and 2 magazines. If you don't have a handgun yet, they can arrange firearms and ammo for you.
• •Steel-cased or magnetic ammunition isn't allowed at ranges—bring brass-cased rounds.
• •You pay range fees separately, plus DC application, fingerprinting, and registration fees.
• •Urban Defense LLC does not guarantee permit approval—the District makes that decision independently.
• •Payment via PayPal, cash, check, or money order, due before the class unless arranged otherwise.

Beyond permit training, they offer legal consulting, force-on-force training, emergency trauma care instruction, and security training through US Law Shield partnerships.
