Reliance Tactical operates from a core mission: educate shooters on firearm safety, marksmanship, and the constitutional right to self-defense. Founded by Kevin O'Shaughnessy, whose father was an Army captain and pistol team lead, the company combines formal training credentials with practical shooting experience.

Lin Kossak (Social Media & Outreach) has completed NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting, Delaware Concealed Carry, Advanced Pistol, Defensive Rifle, and Simulator Training.

Russell Cooper (Range Assistant) is a retired Department of Defense employee who holds Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey concealed carry certifications, plus Advanced Pistol and Defensive Rifle training.

Ava Kossak (Sponsoree) is an NRA-certified pistol instructor, Liberty University accounting student, and member of the Liberty University Air Pistol Team—trained through Reliance's own programs.

Exceeds state requirements. Includes classroom instruction and live-fire range training. Covers legal ownership, carrying, shooting fundamentals, mindset, and defensive tactics.

Designed for residents and non-residents. Fulfills Maryland's first-time applicant requirement with live-fire and classroom instruction.

Qualification course on the range. Students must already be comfortable handling their firearm and operating from a holster. Requires 50 rounds fired at FBI-Q target from 3-15 yards. Minimum passing score: 80% (40 of 50 rounds).

• •Required: Handgun (rental available), holster, spare magazine/speed loader, 100 rounds, eye/ear protection, water.

Beginner Pistol (3 hours) - $130 For new shooters covering universal safety rules, loading/unloading, grip, trigger control at speed, Bill drills, doubles/rapid-fire pairs, and error diagnosis.

Advanced Pistol (4 hours) - $170 For those with baseline proficiency. Covers drawing from holster, speed/tactical reloads, malfunction clearing, shooting from cover and ground, scenario-based exercises.

Dynamic Pistol (4 hours) - $170 Building-block instruction emphasizing speed and efficiency: target transitions, movement drills, bar hops, advancing forward drills, moving around barricades.

Dynamic Rifle (4 hours) - $170 For experienced rifle shooters. Building-block approach covering target transitions, movement with transitions, bar hops, advancing forward, barricade work.

• •Required Gear: Magazine-fed semi-automatic rifle (preferably with sling), 150-200 rounds, at least two magazines, eye/ear protection, water.

• •Optional: Pistol with holster, chest rig, plate carrier/body armor, duty belt.

One-on-one instruction on firearm operation, safety fundamentals, and practice methodology. Rentals available if you don't have your own.

Safe, zero-cost-per-round environment for beginners to learn safety and marksmanship, or advanced students to run self-defense decision scenarios. Also available for simulator parties.
