Full description and what we offer

Old South Expeditions is Captain Brian Sawyer's guided hunting operation based in Homosassa, Florida. As a full-time fishing and hunting guide, Sawyer spends nearly every day working the Nature Coast's backwaters, marshes, and coastal zones—the kind of intimate knowledge that separates casual guides from ones who consistently find birds.

  • Waterfowl Season runs September through January, with multiple sub-seasons targeting different species. The timing matters: Homosassa's temperate weather keeps hunters comfortable while providing migrating ducks the conditions they need.
  • Turkey hunts are also offered, though waterfowl is the primary focus during the season.

The guide handles the heavy lifting:

  • Full decoy spreads
  • Boat and water access to prime hunting spots
  • Cooler for the day
  • Navigation and spotting

You bring your own shotgun (12 or 20 gauge), ammunition (3" steel shells recommended), waders if needed, and polarized glasses.

Homosassa sits on Florida's Nature Coast, offering access to diverse hunting habitat in a single area. You're not driving hours between spots—everything is within reach of the boat launch.
