Heels & Holsters started with a simple idea: women deserve a safe, judgment-free space to learn firearms skills and self-defense. Founded in 2014 and based in Lake Mary, Florida, this independent club has grown into a vibrant community where women from all backgrounds gather to shoot, train, and support each other.
The group meets monthly at locations including Gander Mountain in Lake Mary. Each session combines education on a rotating topic—from concealed carry law to prepping to self-defense tactics—followed by hands-on range time where members practice and develop their skills.
Andrea (Andy) Tolbert serves as founder and lead instructor. She's an NRA-certified instructor, USCCA-certified instructor, and certified to teach the SAFE course through the National Self Defense Institute. She's also trained in Assault Counter Tactics and the WAVE (Women Against Violence Everywhere) Program, and is pursuing her Certified Crime Practitioner designation through the Florida Attorney General's Office.
Andy's background spans real estate, firearms consulting for film and TV productions, and professional instruction. Her teaching style is laid-back with a focus on practical skill-building that doesn't require major lifestyle changes.
