High Caliber Civilian & Officer Training Academy doesn't just teach you to punch holes in paper. They focus on preparing shooters for actual situations—physically and mentally. Led by Chief K. Spellman, an NRA-Certified Firearms Instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer, the academy brings a tactical mindset developed through training with Special Weapons and Tactics Officers, Gang Intelligence units, Law Enforcement, and Private Contractors.
Spellman is a State of Florida Security Chief & Trainer and founder of High Caliber. His team is selected not just for professional credentials, but for a demonstrated commitment to service and client protection.
Private Pistol Lessons - One-on-one instruction for complete beginners - Same comprehensive pistol fundamentals as the NRA course - 100-round range session - Equipment and ammo available on-site
NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course - Safety rules and application - Operation of multiple rifle types: MSR, lever action, bolt action, pump action - Ammunition knowledge and selection - Maintenance, storage, and marksmanship - Includes classroom, hands-on, and live-fire instruction
NRA Women On Target® Clinic - Half-day or full-day instructional clinics - Women-only, beginner-friendly environment - Firearm safety and marksmanship fundamentals - For first-time shooters or those brushing up skills
Conceal Carry Weapon Course - Maximum 2 students per class for personalized instruction - Detailed assessment: stance, grip, trigger pull, gun handling, drawing - Holster work and draw-from-holster firing - 100-round range course - Ammunition available for purchase
Security Officer "G" (Armed) Qualification/Certification - 28-hour statewide firearms course - Teaches firearms safety, marksmanship, firearms mechanics, liability - Qualifies for Class "G" Statewide Firearm License - State license fees not included; bring your own gun and ammunition
Armed "G" Recertification - 4-hour annual recertification for armed security officers and armed private detectives - Refreshes skills for Class "G" license renewal
Security Officer "D" (Unarmed) Cert - 42-hour full curriculum course - Required training for Florida Class D License - Covers access control, patrol, terrorism awareness, emergency procedures
NRA Range Safety Officer Development Course - Prerequisite: Currently certified NRA instructor - Covers RSO role, SOPs, range inspection, briefing procedures - Emergency procedures, firearm stoppages and malfunctions - 90% pass score required on final test
