Stock refinishing is a multi-step process: strip the old finish, steam out dents, sand scratches, glue cracks, fill gouges, apply stain/dye, inspect for imperfections, then apply final coat. Final coats can be wood wax, polyurethanes, varnishes, oils, automotive clear coats, or combinations depending on the look you want. Turnaround ranges from one day to a week depending on what's used.
