Veterans for Airsoft

Veterans For Airsoft is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2018 with a single mission: get military veterans, active duty personnel, law enforcement, and first responders off the couch and into MILSIM events.

Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, VFA doesn't sell airsoft guns or gear—they run the events, coordinate the logistics, and remove every barrier that keeps veterans from experiencing tactical training scenarios.

• •MILSIM (Military Simulation) is armed confrontation training conducted for education and entertainment. VFA coordinates immersive 3-day experiences where three factions engage in structured mission sets with high-intensity combat, leadership challenges, and real tactical decision-making.

They work directly with top training facilities and event producers nationwide. For their flagship events, VFA handles everything:

• •Free military tickets (all branches qualify)
• •All essential gear provided so you don't need to own airsoft equipment
• •Meals and lodging when available
• •Direct coordination with each participant before the event
• •Gear distribution and safety briefings on-site

Their 8th annual charity event takes place at Mount Vernon Arsenal in Searcy, Alabama—a historic Civil War-era military facility with expanded operational areas.

Schedule Overview: - Friday arrival window 1200-1700 with opening ceremony and mission start at 1930 - Saturday full ops with PAUSEX breaks (1300, 1830, 2300) - Sunday morning missions conclude 1200 with raffle and awards - Rolling mission set format—not traditional force-on-force

Participants choose faction based on uniform/gear color:

• •BLUFOR (Tan camo) — Invading force with strict Rules of Engagement
• •GREENFOR (Green camo) — Nation forces with loose ROE defending the region
• •OPFOR (Civilian dress) — Insurgent force with no ROE, maximum chaos

Each faction led by cadre instructors. The scenario forces teamwork and leadership development over individual skill.

Since 2020, VFA has integrated helicopter rides into their program. Enlisted veterans get opportunities to:

• •Engage targets from the air
• •Experience what they call "the ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE in military simulation"

VFA partners with industry leaders who provide this capability at select events.
