Full description and what we offer
South Atlanta Firearms Training (SAFT) focuses on one thing: getting you from uncomfortable to genuinely confident with a handgun. They're USCCA Official Partners, NRA certified, and active NAAGA members. Classes run Monday through Sunday, so scheduling actually works with real life.
Oliver Price (owner) is a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer, USCCA Senior Training Counselor, former Director of Chapter Development for NAAGA, and Air Force veteran. His team includes Robert Owens (NAAGA certified, Georgia POST certified) and Anthony Heywood (USCCA RSO, NAAGA member). Every instructor carries CPR/AED certification and Stop the Bleed training—because safety means something here.
Basic Handgun Courses - NSSF First Shots (intro for absolute beginners) - Basic Handgun (fundamentals of safety and operation) - Basic Pistol II & Gun Cleaning (maintenance and technique) - 2-Day Comprehensive Basic Course ("everything you ever wanted to know and more")
Concealed Carry Training - Beginner to advanced CCW courses - In-class simulations with scenario-based learning - CCW Outdoors field training - Real Georgia law instruction (they take this seriously)
Women's Handgun & Self-Defense - Women-focused curriculum taught by female instructor Lynette Price - Combines handgun proficiency with practical self-defense tactics
Instructor Certification - 3-Day Instructor Development Course for those wanting to teach
Specialized Training - Home Defense Course (comes with a customized home defense checklist) - Red Dot Pistol optics course - First Aid / CPR / AED certification - Stop the Bleed trauma response training - NAAGA courses (focusing on responsible African American gun ownership)
"I received pages worth of notes, a firearm cleaning kit, tourniquet, USCCA hat, travel range box, ear protection, glasses—plus incredible instruction. As a woman of color, I felt completely safe and respected. The Price family's teaching is exceptional." — Recent 2-Day Basic student
"By the end of class I was 99% more confident about handling my handgun safely and 100% more confident I made the right decision attending. I'm now going to the range by myself." — Deborah D., Feb 2025
"Oliver showcases professionalism, extensive experience, and thorough understanding of Georgia handgun laws. I'm enrolling my wife and daughter in his class." — Keith B., Feb 2025
Classes stay small deliberately—they don't run large group trainings. Each student gets individual attention and actual interaction with instructors.
Classes include: - In-classroom instruction (handgun mechanics, law, safety protocols) - Hands-on range time (practicing what you learned, supervised) - Course materials (notebooks, guides, reference sheets) - Lunch and refreshments both days (on multi-day courses) - Takeaway resources (cleaning kits, accessories, recommendations)

SAFT emphasizes continuous education—they train their instructors regularly and believe mastery of your craft matters when teaching others. Every instructor stays current and certified across multiple organizations.
