Treasure Valley Shooting Academy teaches firearm safety, fundamentals, and defensive skills to first-time shooters, concealed carry applicants, and experienced shooters who want structured improvement. Classes meet at Caldwell Christian Church (3207 E. Ustick Rd, Caldwell, Idaho 83605) with range portions at George Nourse Shooting Range in Nampa.
All instructors are NRA Certified and USCCA Certified. The team includes Dane Mullen, Greg Bonde, Jordon Hurd, David Morgan, and Jocelyn Bonde, all operating as chief instructors and range safety officers.

This entry-level course covers: - Pistol action types and safe handling - Loading, unloading, and firearm storage - Grip, stance, and trigger control - Range operations and safety protocols - Introduction to self-defense concepts
Students get personalized feedback and specific skill-building goals at the end. You can rent a handgun to test different options before buying. The class is designed for casual, stress-free learning—even experienced shooters benefit from reviewing fundamentals with formal instruction.
This is the official path to Idaho's Enhanced Concealed Carry Permit. The class runs 6 hours in-classroom plus 2 hours at the range (with a break for travel). Instructors are Certified USCCA Instructors Dane Mullen and Greg Bonde.
What you'll learn: - Conflict avoidance and de-escalation - Situational awareness and home security planning - Use of force and escalation of force laws - Basic shooting fundamentals - Physiology of violent encounters and stress response - Legal obligations and post-incident responsibilities - Concealed carry gun selection and holster types
What you bring: - Your handgun (unloaded for classroom) or rent one - 100 rounds of ammunition (leave in vehicle during classroom) - Holster that fits your gun - Eye and ear protection - Belt and belt-loop pants/shorts - Lunch, snacks, and water
Reciprocity Alert: This permit is recognized in 40 U.S. states including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Oregon recognizes the certification but requires an in-person appointment (Vale is nearby).

Private training ranges from introductory skills through tactical skill-building at varying levels.
No gun? No problem. TVSA has handguns, rifles, and shotguns available to rent. Request a rental when registering for any class. You can also add ammunition to your rental if needed.
TVSA's philosophy: You don't need prerequisites.
