Full description and what we offer
Roger Eubanks didn't stumble into this trade—he was seven or eight years old when his father Gerald opened the shop garage in California. That was the early 1960s. Gerald had taken a night course in gunsmithing and apprenticed under J.L. Dockwiller to master stock building. Roger learned alongside his father for 45 years before they relocated to Western Idaho in the early 1990s.
"All the work that we do is custom." — Roger Eubanks
This isn't a production shop. Eubanks Gunsmithing focuses on ribs and shotgun barrel work—those take priority over everything else. Their specialty is installing ventilated ribs on Winchester Model 12s and 42s, which took them years of trial-and-error and custom fixture building to perfect in the 1980s.
They're a two-person operation. There's always a backlog. If you call expecting quick turnaround, this isn't your shop. But if you have a classic shotgun that needs real work, they've earned respect from serious gunsmiths nationwide. Roger has worked with master engravers and respected figures in the gun world—the kind of partnerships that come from decades of quality work.
