The Idaho Sheriffs Association offers the state-mandated handgun safety course needed to apply for a basic concealed weapons license. The course is free to take—you only pay $35 for the certificate of completion after you pass.
1. Register and start the course 2. Take the course (free, work through it at your own pace) 3. Pass the material and reach 100% on quizzes 4. Buy your certificate ($35 via credit/debit card) 5. Schedule with your sheriff to complete the CWL application
You can pause and resume anytime from any device. Your progress saves automatically.
This training satisfies Idaho's educational requirement for a basic concealed weapons license only. If you want an enhanced CWL, you'll need an additional 8-hour NRA personal protection course.
