Latah provides firearms training that satisfies Idaho's enhanced concealed weapons license requirements. If you're applying for a standard license, you need training documentation. For an enhanced license, the training is mandatory and must meet specific state criteria.
Every Latah training course includes:

| Duration | 8 hours minimum, face-to-face |
| Instructors | NRA-certified or nationally recognized credentials |
| Rounds | Minimum 98 rounds fired by student |
| Validity | Certificate valid for 12 months before CCW application |
Your training certificate is required when you apply at the Latah County Sheriff's Office. Initial applications are walk-in only on Tuesdays (9am-1pm) and Thursdays (11am-3pm).
Once you complete the course and receive your certificate, take it to the Sheriff's Office with: - Completed application packet - Fingerprints - $56.10 fee (exact cash or check) - Your training certificate
Processing typically takes under 90 days.
Federal law note: Domestic violence convictions disqualify applicants from both firearm possession and concealed weapons licenses.
