Full description and what we offer
North Idaho IDPA hosts regular shooting competitions at Center Target Sports (3295 E. Mullan Ave, Post Falls, ID 83854). Two distinct events each month give shooters flexibility in how they want to train and compete.
The first Sunday of each month features an open practice shoot that's exactly what it sounds like: no scoring, no time pressure, just shooting. This is the place to work on technique, test different gear, or shoot your 1911 without worrying about stage times. The club requires rifle bags and breach flags for all long guns, and maintains strict safety protocols with required chamber flags.
The second Sunday hosts the official IDPA match—timed and scored competition for handguns and pistol caliber carbines. Setup starts at 7:00am with the mandatory safety meeting at 8:00am. Registration closes promptly when the door locks at 8:00am, so arrive early.
You shoot whatever you bring to the line for all stages. The club enforces rules around securing long guns before and after each course of fire. Shotguns are not allowed at practice shoots due to range safety and timing constraints. Standard rifle caliber restrictions apply—the range handles .223/5.56 rifles and pistol caliber carbines under IDPA rules.
Register through Practiscore (free account required—you don't need IDPA membership). Search for "Center Target Sports IDPA" or "CTS IDPA" to find the club and register for either event.
No IDPA membership required to shoot—just register, show up, and compete.
The club maintains an active roster of certified safety officers who manage every match and ensure consistent, safe competition.
