Full description and what to expect
The Idaho PITA State Shoot is a trap shooting competition hosted by the Idaho State Trap Shooting Association at Twin Falls Gun Club. This event brings together trap shooters from across Idaho for three days of competitive shooting on clay targets.
Trap shooting tests your ability to hit clay targets launched from a trap house at varying angles and speeds. Shooters take positions in a line and fire at targets that break away in unpredictable flight patterns, requiring precision, focus, and consistency.
This competition welcomes trap shooters with experience in registered shooting sports. Participants range from club-level competitors to those with years of trap shooting experience. If you shoot trap regularly at your local club, you have the skills needed to compete.
The three-day format (June 26-28, 2026) allows shooters to compete across multiple rounds and divisions. Competition typically includes standard trap classes organized by skill level and shooting style.
Held at Twin Falls Gun Club, a facility equipped for organized trap competitions with multiple shooting stations and safety infrastructure designed for this event type.
