Full description and what we offer
Your instructor, Jerald Shadowens, isn't a weekend hobbyist. He's a former police officer, police chief, United States Marine personal protection specialist for the Commander of the United States Sixth Fleet, and an established trainer. He's taught Marines, police officers, security personnel, and civilian concealed carry applicants. His credentials come from the Illinois Local Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board—not a pre-packaged gun club curriculum.
The 16-hour Illinois CCL course covers the full scope of what you need to know and do:
Firearm Fundamentals - 4 rules of firearm safety - Care, cleaning, loading, and unloading - Gun identification (revolver, semi-automatic, other types) - Ammunition selection and identification - Cleaning equipment and protocols
Marksmanship Basics - Stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture - Trigger control - Live fire qualification instruction - Handgun concealment principles
The Law (Where Shadowens Focuses) - All applicable state and federal laws for ownership, storage, carry, and transportation - The FOID Act - Use of force in defense of person, dwelling, and property - Unlawful Use of Weapons statutes - Illinois Concealed Carry application process
Price: $99 per person with $50 deposit required. They keep it affordable because accessible training matters.
16-Hour Illinois CCL Class - January 3-4, 2026 - $99 per person ($50 deposit)
Renewal Classes - Conducted one-on-one or small groups on your schedule - Call 815-909-4928 for details
Beyond the classroom, they'll guide you through the entire Illinois Concealed Carry application process step-by-step.
"There is a reason why we are charging so little for our classes. It's because we care about your training and want to make sure that good quality training isn't cost prohibitive."
