Marc Jens brings serious credentials to the classroom. He's an honorably retired Cook County Sheriff's Police Officer with over two decades of service, including 10 years as Training Coordinator and lead instructor at the Cook County Sheriff's Police Training Academy—where he trained officers from more than 60 municipalities across Illinois. That's the person teaching your concealed carry class.
Marc holds: - Illinois State Police Certified Concealed Carry Instructor (curriculum certified by Illinois State Police) - Firearms Instructor Certification from Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Certification - Graduate of University of Illinois Police Training Institute Police Firearms Instructor Course
Illinois Concealed Carry License Training: - 16-hour certification course (mandatory for CCL application) - Multiple scheduling options: Saturday/Sunday 2-day format, weekday mornings (10am-2pm), or evening classes (6pm-10pm) - All 4 parts must be taken in consecutive order, but you can mix days/times to fit your schedule - Classes held once monthly (A.M.) or every other month (P.M.)
Renewal Training: - 3-hour mandatory renewal course for CCL holders

No FOID Card Required to Take the Class — You don't need an Illinois Firearm Owner's ID to enroll in training.
