Wise Firearm Training

WISE Firearm Training operates a custom-built qualification range in Quincy with serious credentials. The team includes a retired Chicago Police Department sergeant (30 years, including field training and range instruction), a competitive USPSA/IDPA shooter, certified range officers, and Adams County's only female instructor. All three active instructors hold NRA Basic Pistol certifications and Illinois State Police approval.

• •Covers NRA safety rules, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules
• •Bench rest and two-handed standing positions
• •Pistol cleaning and continued skill development
• •Receive Basics of Pistol Shooting certificate
• •Also qualifies you for Florida Concealed Carry Permit

• •Illinois Concealed Carry Permit Class (8 hours, $115)
• •Final 8 of 16 required training hours
• •30-round minimum qualification (60 recommended to account for misfires)
• •Federal Firearms Laws, Illinois FOID Act, Transportation Laws, Concealed Carry Laws
• •Live fire: 10 rounds each at 5, 7, and 10 yards
• •Must score 70% (21 of 30 shots) inside scoring rings
• •Prerequisite: Prior training required (NRA Basic Pistol, Military DD214, or equivalent)

• •Requires: Semi-auto 9mm+ or .38 Special+ revolver, 2+ magazines/speedloaders, strong-side or purse holster, cover garment
• •Prerequisite: NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home certificate or pre-course evaluation

• •Dress code: No open-toed shoes on range. Avoid loose-fitting tops. Hat with brim recommended.
• •Name requirement: Name on registration must match driver's license exactly or certificate will be rejected by ISP.
