Pure Rod and Gun Club operates 153+ acres of land and water in Plainfield Township, Illinois, dedicated to outdoor recreation and sportsmanship. The club exists to provide members with fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, camping, picnicking, and other outdoor pursuits in a managed, rule-governed environment.
- •Lake access for members with current Illinois fishing license
- •Posted catch limits enforced by membership card (not per person)
- •Bluegill: minimum 7 inches, 6-fish daily limit
- •Bass: catch and release only
- •Bowfishing authorized by hunting chairman (boat-only, not from land)
- •Fish must be recorded in clubhouse log
- •Archery range with posted rules available from hunting chairman
- •Bowfishing equipment inspected and licensed by hunting chairman
- •Specific rules available from hunting chairman
- •NO CAMPING DURING HUNTING SEASON - violation results in 1-year loss of camping privileges
- •Gas motors permitted only at designated ramps for loading/unloading
- •Electric motors only for trolling
- •Designated parking areas for boats
- •One boat per member maximum
- •Boat sticker required ($20.80)
- •Illinois boating rules apply
- •Season runs May 1 through one week before hunting season begins
- •Winter camping available at board discretion

- •Maximum 2-week stay in one location, then must relocate

Members who serve 10 consecutive years or 14 cumulative years on the Board of Directors get annual dues waived.
Equity members under 70 years old must complete 6 hours of club worktime annually. Disabled members may request exemption with documentation. Failure to complete results in $312 fine added to next year's dues.
- •Social members cannot bring guests or hunt
- •Children under 18 included in family membership
- •Guests must be accompanied by member, sign indemnity form, pay guest fee
- •Members responsible for guest conduct
- •Children 16-17 may use parent's card but parent is liable for their actions
No firearms allowed on club grounds unless specifically approved by Board of Directors. This includes BB guns, slingshots, and air guns.
- •Speed limits and one-way signs enforced
- •No alcohol consumption when operating club equipment
- •Golf carts require proof of insurance, valid license, club number
- •No fireworks, drones, or remote-controlled aircraft
- •Pets must be leashed or under control (not allowed at events)
- •All minors under 16 must be in campsite or with adult by 10pm
- •No smoking in clubhouse
- •Campfires in designated areas only
The club enforces rules through a structured discipline process:
- •Theft or willful damage: Suspension or dismissal
- •Giving gate card to non-member: 3-month prime season suspension + 1-year probation
- •Guest infractions: No guests for remainder of year + 1-year probation
- •Speeding: 6 hours extra worktime + 1-year probation
- •Fishing over limit: $35 per fish over limit + 1-year probation + board-determined suspension
Members have right to hearing with 7 days' written notice before discipline.
