Valparaiso Pistol and Rifle Club

Valparaiso Pistol & Rifle Club operates a dedicated marksmanship facility focused on organized shooting sports, firearm safety training, and building community among responsible gun owners. Located at 554 West 450 South in Hebron, Indiana, the club emphasizes competitive bullseye shooting alongside casual range access.

VPRC runs league night competitions every Thursday evening starting at 7:00 PM. The standard match consists of 60 rounds split into three fire modes:

• •Timed fire: 5 shots in 10 minutes (2 strings)
• •Timed fire: 5 shots in 20 seconds (2 strings)
• •Rapid fire: 5 shots in 10 seconds (2 strings)

Matches use six targets at 10 rounds per target. The cost to shoot league night is just $2.00 to cover target expenses.

• •Indoor Range (Open 7am-10pm daily for members)
• •.22 rimfire only until qualification
• •Maximum caliber: .44 Magnum and .45 ACP
• •Handguns only—no rifles, no shotguns
• •Iron sights only for qualification

• •Qualification for Magnum/Jacketed Rounds: Shoot 30 rounds one-handed into four standard targets. Must put all 30 rounds anywhere on the targets with no rest or support. Iron sights only. Miss one shot and you restart the following week.

• •Outdoor Range (Daylight to dusk daily for members)
• •Centerfire rifles allowed (nothing over 3,500 fps)
• •Steel targets for handgun shooting only
• •No rapid fire with semi-auto rifles (two-shot bursts only for neighbor consideration)

• •Initiation Fee: $100.00
• •Annual Dues: $200.00 (July 1 – June 30 fiscal year)
• •Prorated Rate: $100.00 + initiation if joining January-June
• •Payment Methods: Cash or check only. Dues due by end of July or membership expires.

VPRC is built on the principle that organized shooting develops "honesty, good fellowship, self discipline, team spirit and self reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship." The club enforces extremely strict safety rules—members have been permanently terminated for unsafe practices.

• •Family Access: After probation, members can bring immediate family (spouse, children, parents, siblings in the local area) if they shoot one-on-one with a club member for supervision until deemed safe by the club.

Stop by any Thursday night between 6-8 PM when shooting starts at 7 PM. Prospective members can shoot during this time if planning to join—bring a .22 pistol. Monthly meetings are held the third Thursday at 8:00 PM.

Once voted in and probation is complete, members receive combination access codes to both indoor and outdoor ranges, making the facility available every day of the year.
