Full description and what we offer
If shooting at a bench and punching paper doesn't appeal to you, Dubuque IDPA offers something different. The Dubuque Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America—a nationwide organization protecting the environment and promoting outdoor recreation—runs competitive shooting sports on 25+ acres between Dubuque and Peosta, Iowa.
They run a COLD RANGE. All firearms must be unloaded until shooters reach the firing lines—no exceptions for pistol leagues or clay events.
Proper eye and ear protection, safe firearm handling, and common sense are mandatory. If you won't follow these rules, this isn't your range.
Join the chapter and get: - Event discounts up to $5 depending on the competition - Access to 25+ acres of facilities - Community of shooters focused on skill development - Calendar of year-round events
Women-led and women-instructed, this shooting group is built for female shooters. Events are social, supportive, and judgment-free. All instruction covers proper grip, stance, trigger control, sight picture—the fundamentals that actually matter. Cost is $5 per evening. You don't need your own firearm; they have options to try.
Check the online Google Calendar at www.iwla.org/dubuque for current event schedules and dates.
