Full description and what we offer
Hunt the Hashknife is a family-run outfitter offering guided hunting on thousands of contiguous acres in western Kansas. Since Ed and Kay Koger started the operation in 2001, they've built a reputation for serious hunters who come back year after year—clients call it "heaven on earth for a whitetail hunter."
The ranch specializes in fully-guided archery hunts for trophy whitetail. Bucks regularly score 165+. What makes the difference:
Spring turkey hunts (archery and shotgun) run April through May. Winter flocks number in the hundreds of birds. 4-night semi-guided packages with cabin lodging.
Native quail hunting in fall and winter across rolling prairie, croplands, and timbered creek bottoms. Hunters bring their own dogs; kennels provided. The Hashknife limits quail hunts based on annual hatch quantity.
The ranch sits near Wilmore, Kansas (30 miles from Pratt). Two hunting cabins—the North End sleeps four, the Line Shack sleeps two—both with full kitchens, satellite TV, and bathrooms. Meals served at the lodge feature Angus beef (they run top-quality cattle), plus fish, seafood, and poultry. Fresh salads, seasonal vegetables, homemade breads and desserts.
Head guide Jared Koger leads hunts; family members Matt and others guide as needed. This is genuinely a family operation—kids grew up bowhunting here, spouses are hunters, grandkids pitch in.
