Adams Firearms Training

Robert G. Adams has been training shooters in north-central Kentucky since 1997. His credentials include NRA Handgun Instructor and National Range Officer certifications, Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Instructor status, and Glock Armorer certification through Glock Professional Inc. He's also a USPSA member and IDPA Range Safety Officer.

• •Basic Handgun - For shooters who've never handled a firearm or want to improve accuracy. Covers fundamentals thoroughly, including the details most instructors skip. 8-hour course ($120) or condensed 4-hour safety and handling class ($60, no live fire). A 4-hour class is $60.

• •Advanced Training Level 1 - Introduction to modern defensive shooting fundamentals. On-range instruction covers deadly force mindset, ready position, grip, trigger management, and sight alignment. You'll work on draw, reloading, malfunction clearing, and shooting on the move. Includes weapon care and maintenance instruction. Approximately 8 hours, $160 per student. Requires 400 rounds of ammunition.

• •Advanced Training Level 2 - Builds on Level 1 skills with increased movement and off-hand shooting. Focus shifts to tactical positioning, cover and concealment, space utilization, and structure clearing. Class ends with live-fire decision-making scenarios. Approximately 7-8 hours, $160 per student. Requires 300 rounds of ammunition.

• •In-home instruction available - Don't want to travel to a range? Adams will do the 4-hour class or safety training at your location
• •Mental conditioning emphasis - Safety and mindset are constant themes, not afterthoughts
• •Backup gun policy - If your firearm malfunctions, he has rental firearms available so training doesn't stop
• •Flexible scheduling - CCDW classes held every other weekend; other courses as needed
