KL Shelton Custom Kentucky Rifles

K.L. Shelton builds custom Kentucky rifles, pistols, and fowlers one at a time, to your exact specifications. He was taught the craft in the early 1970s by Taylor Ellington, a renowned Eastern Kentucky gunsmith who wanted to pass the knowledge to a new generation.

Shelton specializes in the "Lancaster School" design—recognized by historians as the birthplace of the American rifle. These were built in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and gained fame on the frontier in the hands of explorers like Daniel Boone and Simon Kenton.
