Gunning for a Cure is an annual sporting clays competition hosted in Braithwaite, Louisiana, dedicated to raising funds for prostate cancer research. Rather than a traditional public shooting range, this is a premier fundraising event organized by Stella Events & Adventures that brings together shooting enthusiasts and community members for a day of competitive clay shooting with a charitable purpose.
Held at 4881 LA-39 in Braithwaite, Louisiana, Gunning for a Cure combines competitive sporting clays with community engagement and social activities. The event features a full day of activities designed to support Dr. Oliver Sartor's Prostate Cancer Research Fund, with all proceeds directed to advancing treatment options and ultimately discovering a cure for advanced prostate cancer.
The primary activity is a sporting clays competition where teams of four participants compete against one another. The event welcomes shooters of varying skill levels and provides shells for all competitors. Shooting stations are set up throughout the venue, and the competition typically begins at 9 AM following an 8 AM breakfast service.
