PrepTactical offers Louisiana concealed carry certification courses and tactical pistol instruction designed by experienced trainers. Located in DeRidder, they combine traditional live fire training with innovative tech to build real fundamentals—without the full ammo cost.

Beginners Pistol Fundamentals ($50/student) covers the ground-level essentials: firearm safety, muzzle awareness, proper grip and stance, trigger control, sight alignment, and shot placement. No prerequisites—this is where new shooters start.

Concealed Carry Certification ($120, or $100 for groups of 2+) is their core offering. It includes Louisiana state certification paperwork with one-on-one assistance. Military active duty and veterans get $90 pricing.

High Occupancy Precision Shooting (HOPS) ($125/student) is the advanced course for intermediate to expert shooters training to handle firearms in crowded environments. Requires passing a safety evaluation first—you need to demonstrate safe draw/reholster from concealment and clear three levels of malfunctions.

Instead of paying full ammo prices for every practice session, they deploy SIRT Training Pistols—recoil-enabled training guns that deliver about 30-40% of live fire recoil with sound and feel, but cost a fraction as much per rep.

VR Range training and video scenario trainers let shooters practice use of force decisions and situational awareness with multiple outcome possibilities—situations you can't safely build on a live range.

Classes require advance registration and payment. Drop-ins not accommodated. Outdoor range, so weather affects scheduling.
