Location details and information

Honey Island Shooting Range, operated by Southeast Louisiana Firearms Safety (SELF), has been the Pearl River area's go-to outdoor range for over 30 years. Located at the end of Po-Boy Road in the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area, the range serves approximately 20,000 shooters annually and is the only local full-service outdoor range with a daily-use model.

The facility features three dedicated shooting lines:

Rifle Line (100 yards) - Steel plates at 100 yards - Target stand locations at 25, 50, and 100 yards - Staplers and target stands provided - Shotguns allowed with slugs only

Pistol Line (25 yards) - 5 falling plate racks at 18 yards - .22 LR rimfire section - Target stand section out to 25 yards

Shotgun Line - 3 clay target stations - Remote-controlled throwers (outbound and inbound) at each station - Clays supplied; additional charge per box of shells fired

Range officers are on duty at each line. The range provides hearing protection and loaner safety glasses. A WMA access permit is required (unless you hold a lifetime hunting/fishing or senior license); permits can be purchased online or at any hunting/fishing license retailer.

Hours: Friday–Sunday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM Daily Fee: $10 cash only Contact: 985-358-4767 (information line) | [email protected]

Effective January 1, 2026, all firearms must have chamber flags. The Sig P320 and all variants are currently prohibited on the range.

Honey Island hosts "Clay Nights in the Swamp"—a unique nighttime shooting experience featuring black light glow-in-the-dark clay targets under the stars. These events fill quickly and offer reserved shooting slots.
