Full description and what we offer
Dan Wood has been hunting Maine's wilderness for over 45 years and holds a Registered Maine Guide license for the last 20 years. Born and raised in Maine, he was introduced to the outdoors by his father and purchased family land on Kingsbury Pond in the late 1960s. A US Marine Corps veteran, Dan knows the terrain around Kingsbury and surrounding towns like the back of his hand.
Black bear hunts provide what Dan calls "a true adrenalin rush each time." Maine black bears are elusive and move stealthily through the woods—you'll need to hunt from bait to see them at their best. Hunt options include:
Most bait sites use ladder stands positioned 20-40 yards out. $400 deposit required; all deposits are non-refundable.
Woody's Guide Service hunts moose in some of the best moose country Maine has to offer. Hunts take place during Maine's foliage peak season—a beautiful time to be in the woods. Dan guides hunts in zones 14, 17, 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8. The motto here is real: "The work begins when the game is down."
Moose hunts (guided, 2 people): $5,300/week
Dan helps with the permit application process—application deadline is May 15th. $400 deposit required.
"You haven't hunted a trophy whitetail deer until you've hunted the Kingsbury region of northern Maine."
The brooks, streams, cut-offs, and logging roads in the Kingsbury and Bald Mountain area make this a prime whitetail zone. Multiple stand locations available.
