Coastal Guide Service LLC operates out of Rhodesdale, Maryland, right in the heart of one of North America's premier waterfowl destinations. The Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries cover 4,480 square miles and sit dead-center in the Atlantic Flyway—serving as prime wintering grounds for millions of waterfowl species.
The diversity of ducks available is exceptional:
MD and VA each have 3 waterfowl season splits starting in October. Early season (October) focuses on wood ducks, teal, and mallards in flooded timber. Mid-November through December targets black ducks, mallards, pintails, gadwalls, and widgeons depending on bird activity and weather.
Success depends heavily on weather patterns—the team prioritizes showing clients a good time and keeping everyone safe above all else.

Hunts operate from custom-made duck boats with specially designed blinds, flooded timber stands, and boat blinds depending on location and conditions.
Coastal Guide Service runs year-round fishing charters out of West Ocean City, covering everything from shallow bay fishing to offshore shark expeditions.
Short runs to fishing grounds mean maximum time on the water. Target bluefish, Cobia, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, mahi, false albacore, and sharks. Kid-friendly with consistent action.
Bottom fishing at wrecks produces black seabass, triggerfish, Tautog, flounder, and occasionally mahi or cobia. Great for families and kids.
The most popular trip. Start with trolling for bluefish, mackerel, ribbonfish, and bonito, then move to prime bottom fishing for sea bass, flounder, and other species.
20-40 miles offshore depending on season and water temperature. Target Mako, Blue, Thresher, and other species. Makos show up earliest with explosive, acrobatic fights.

Shark fishing in this area is usually quite consistent—you'll encounter blacktip, spinner, sand tiger, Atlantic sharpnose, sandbar, and other species.

Morning wreck fishing for seabass, triggerfish, and flounder, then transition to shark fishing for the afternoon.
The most popular choice for beginners, kids, and families. Shallow water fishing in the scenic Ocean City bay area. Target flounder, bluefish, rockfish, sheepshead, sea bass, tog, and weakfish depending on season. Common sightings include dolphins, stingrays, and varied birdlife.
Private party charters—no booking fees. Includes professional captain, Bluetooth radio for your music, cooler with ice. Bring your own beverages (no glass), snacks, sunscreen, and towel. Trash can onboard for waterway conservation.
