Full description and what we offer
Branded Outdoors operates in one of the few places in the country where you can hunt free-range Sika deer. Dorchester County sits in the heart of what locals call "Sika country," and the outfitter controls prime locations throughout the region. These vocal deer bugle, whistle, and growl—and hunting them is nothing like typical whitetail pressure. Morning hunts focus on travel routes; evenings work the feeders. The herd is strictly managed with a 4-point minimum on stags, and hinds are only harvested during select gun seasons.

Dorchester County is home to some of the most productive whitetail habitat on the East Coast. Branded Outdoors manages well-kept farms with a 130-inch antler restriction and 4-point minimum. Trail cameras run 24/7/365 with mineral sites keeping the herd healthy and active.
Hunters can choose from ladder stands, lock-on stands, ground blinds, or tower stands depending on comfort preference. Archery-only farms are available for hunters who want to avoid gun season pressure.

A 2-day youth gun hunt is available during rifle season. Lodging is limited for whitetail hunts—book early.
With abundant turkeys throughout Dorchester County, Branded Outdoors runs a mobile hunting strategy. Instead of sitting a single location, guides run and gun until they locate the right bird, then set up for the close. This approach works well in the varied terrain of Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Guide and owner Jake Shaffer has been in the woods since childhood. When he's not patterning deer, roosting turkeys, or putting clients on game, he runs a summer fishing operation for tuna and marlin. This dual focus means the property gets year-round attention and seasonal management.
"Guides work long before and after your hunt. Setting tree stands, moving stands, putting out cameras and checking them, baiting stands and scouting to ensure everyone has a great hunt. Tips are greatly appreciated."
The hunting lodge includes a full kitchen for guest meal prep, washer and dryer, and accommodations for multiple hunters. Breakfast and dinners are provided for Sika hunts; turkey hunters get lodging. Sika deer guests have priority lodging; whitetail hunters should call for availability, as space is limited. The pool is closed to guests.
Founded in 2018, Branded Outdoors has grown to manage multiple properties across Maryland's Eastern Shore. Year-round trail camera networks and mineral site maintenance keep the herd healthy and deer active during hunting seasons. This management commitment is why return hunters book the same season every year.
