On Target Firearms

On Target Firearms operates a state-of-the-art 14-lane indoor range open to the public, members, and guests. Whether you're bringing your own firearm or trying something from the rental cabinet, the range accommodates everything from .22 caliber to .50 BMG for rifles, and .22 LR to .500 S&W for handguns.

You don't need a Massachusetts LTC to shoot—two people aged 18+ with valid ID can rent a lane and firearm together. Handgun rentals require shooters to be 21+, though 18–20 year-olds can shoot handguns supervised by someone 21 or older.

The rental inventory rotates constantly. Recent selections include:

On Target takes safety seriously. Here's what matters:

• •Eye and ear protection mandatory at all times
• •One-second rule applies—no faster than one shot per second
• •No drawing from holster allowed
• •No cross-firing between lanes
• •Shotgun slugs only—no birdshot or buckshot
• •Ammunition restrictions: Full metal jacket, copper-plated, or copper-washed only. No tracer, armor-piercing, incendiary, or steel-core rounds
• •Handgun and rifle calibers allowed (with some restrictions—call for details)
• •Maximum 4 shooters per lane, only one in the booth while shooting
• •180-degree rule enforced—muzzles downrange always
• •Stoppages or misfires? Keep the gun in the booth, notify a Range Officer, don't try to clear it yourself

Violations come with real consequences. Shooting anywhere other than the target and backstop results in a $25 minimum fine. Damage to the target carrier: $200+. Pregnant women are not allowed on the range.

Members can reserve lanes online in advance; non-members shoot first-come, first-served.

First visit? Complete the range waiver online the same day you plan to come. Bring a valid US state or federal ID (passport works). Closed-toe shoes required—no flip-flops or sandals. Lane check-in closes 1 hour before closing time.

Foreign nationals: If you're not a permanent resident or citizen, you may still be eligible to shoot under federal law—visas from Visa Waiver Program countries (including Canada, Australia, UK, most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, and others) are accepted. Exceptions exist for hunting and official purposes. Call ahead if you're unsure of your eligibility.
