Sea Duck Hunt

Captain Ruben Perez operates East Coast Sea Duck Hunting Guide Service, offering guided hunts for eiders, scoters, oldsquaws, and brant across Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. With a USCG Master's License (not just a six-pack) and three decades of professional guiding experience, Perez is known for championship duck and goose calling that brings birds into shooting range at 5-20 yards.

Hunts are conducted from 25' Titan boats by Bankes Marine—equipped with Yamaha 250HP 4-stroke engines, GPS/color map systems, USCG safety gear, and two VHF radios. You'll hunt over traditional layout boats and high-quality decoys from Bankes Marine, with land-based dry blinds like Final Approach Eliminators also available.

Cape Cod advantage: Unlike other New England areas, the region sees minimal commercial hunting pressure. The gunning feels like days gone by—thousands of sea ducks winter here.

• •Shotgun: 12 or 10 gauge with 3 or 3.5" chambers, modified chokes, plugged to 3 shells max
• •Ammo: Non-toxic #2 or #1 shot (2-3 boxes per day)
• •Clothing: Warm camo or drab colors, wet weather gear, water-resistant gloves, hip boots or chest waders
• •Licenses: Massachusetts hunting license and state stamp (easy online purchase). Rhode Island requires hunter safety certificate.

Hunts typically run November through January. Groups range from 1-5 hunters, fully customized to your preferences.
