Founded in 1930, the Marshfield Rod & Gun Club operates on approximately 100 acres of unspoiled upland woods in Marshfield, Massachusetts. The property has evolved significantly since its early days—the clubhouse was built in 1952, expanded in 1960, and the four-acre pond was dug in 1953-54 to serve both fishing and training purposes.

  • Indoor Range — Year-round shooting, hosts rifle teams and pistol matches
  • Outdoor Range — Craig Field Shotgun Range with skeet and 5-stand fields
  • Williams Archery Center — Instruction and competitive meets
  • Clark Pond — Stocked for fishing derbies (adult and children's tournaments held year-round)
  • Trail System — Cross-country skiing in winter, ice fishing on the pond

The club supports action shooting, bullseye pistol, shotgun sports, junior rifle, gallery small bore rifle, and archery at competitive and recreational levels. Members also fish, train hunting dogs, and participate in specialty shoots and family outings.

Membership is open to adults, families, and juniors. The club holds monthly membership meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm (no meetings July-August). Key programs include:

Firearms Safety Course — Required for new shooters and license applicants

  • Women on Target instruction
  • Learn to Shoot Archery classes
  • Team practices and postal matches
  • State and national field archery competitions
  • Fishing derbies throughout the year

The Marshfield Rod & Gun Club exists to promote sportsmanship, educate sportsmen in safe firearms handling, protect and propagate fish and game, and conserve natural resources. Wildlife on the property ranges from whitetail deer to wood ducks.
