Full description and what we offer
Battle Creek Hunt (BCH) operates as a true English fox hunting club in Augusta, Michigan, 3 miles north of town and halfway between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. The hunt season runs September through April, with formal hunts scheduled every Thursday at 4pm and Sunday at 10am.
Unlike clubs that cater to one riding style, BCH accommodates all disciplines—from traditional fox hunting to trail riding to cross country. The club emphasizes inclusivity: you can participate at whatever level matches your experience.
"It's important to us that you can simply be yourself and stay within your riding comfort."
New riders without fox hunting experience are no problem. The club provides guidance and support to help riders build skills if they want to advance, but there's zero pressure to do so.
The club is run by experienced Masters:
Additional leadership includes First and Second Flight Leads plus multiple Whippers-In who manage the hunts and keep things organized.
Beyond regular hunt days, BCH hosts special events throughout the year:
| Event | Date |

Guest Requirements: Bring a current Coggins test and liability waiver. Helmets are required for all riders.
Membership starts with an email to the club. They handle the rest. Whether you're a seasoned rider exploring fox hunting or looking to join a community of equestrians, guests are actively welcomed to experience the tradition firsthand.
