Full description and what we offer
Formed in 1996 by concealed carry advocates, the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners is Michigan's largest non-profit, state-based firearms organization. Started with just eight people and a mission to secure "shall-issue" concealed carry, MCRGO has become the legislative force on firearms issues in Michigan.
MCRGO operates on three fronts: education, legislation, and litigation.
MCRGO is the only firearms organization in Michigan with paid full-time staff dedicated to answering member questions. Their executive director has 25 years of experience with Michigan firearms legislation.
Unlike national organizations that react to legislation, MCRGO drives the agenda. They were instrumental in Michigan's concealed carry reform (2000) and subsequent improvements (2002). They've also fought to protect firearms manufacturers from lawsuits by cities and counties.
They work in active cooperation with the NRA, National Shooting Sports Foundation, and Civilian Marksmanship Program.
