General Information

Grand Rapids Rifle & Pistol Club operates a dedicated shooting facility at 1331 Nagel Ave SW in Wyoming, serving West Michigan shooters since at least 1891. This is a member-supported club focused on organized marksmanship training and competition across multiple disciplines.

The club's 50-foot heated indoor range features 12 partitioned firing points with adjustable benches and target frames. Each station allows shooters to position targets at their preferred height and distance. An active ventilation system continuously circulates fresh air throughout the facility.

What you can shoot: - Air guns (air rifle and air pistol) - .22LR rimfire rifle - Most handgun cartridges

Not permitted: - Magnum handgun cartridges - Centerfire rifles - Shotguns

The club invested in modern scoring equipment:

This setup eliminates manual target pulling and scoring delays—essential for organized competition shooting.

Beyond the shooting line, members have access to a spacious clubhouse with: - Seating throughout (tables and chairs) - Kitchenette - Two restrooms - Bottled water and soda (nominal cash fee) - Free public Wi-Fi

The club runs junior shooting sports programs and partners with: - American Legion Junior Shooting Sports (sponsored by Roger B. Chaffee Post 154) - Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports (70+ counties participate statewide) - Meijer State Games (competition events)

Youth members learn safety, technique, discipline, and sportsmanship through competitive marksmanship.

Membership is open to U.S. citizens and legal residents who: - Are of good repute - Have no felony convictions - Have no misdemeanor domestic violence convictions - Subscribe to the club's mission

The club's stated purpose is to: 1. Encourage organized rifle and pistol shooting 2. Foster safe and responsible gun use through education 3. Provide facilities and ranges for shooting sports 4. Develop character traits including honesty, fellowship, self-discipline, teamwork, and self-reliance

Board meetings occur the first Monday of each month (August–April) at 5:30 PM. The annual membership meeting is held in September.
