Location details and information
The John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center is Hillsdale College's shooting sports facility, teaching firearms safety and marksmanship to shooters of all ages while training youth and collegiate athletes for top-level competition. Since 2019, it has served as the official home of the USA Shooting National Team.
The Center hosts Junior and Senior Nationals in International Skeet and International Trap, the Para Trap World Cup, the USPSA Collegiate Championship, the Tom Klix Memorial Sporting Clays Classic, and Olympic and Junior World training camps, and its athletes compete on the Air Rifle, Air Pistol, and Action Shooting Pistol teams. Students can take shooting sports classes from introductory to advanced levels, each opening with firearms and range safety instruction alongside seminars on constitutional rights.
A planned addition, the Nimrod Complex, would bring new archery, air gun, and rifle and pistol ranges alongside the Center's existing Ailes Action Range.
