Cerakote is a polymer-ceramic composite coating applied as a thin film (0.001-inch thick) that's resistant to abrasion, corrosion, chemicals, and impact. The thinness makes it ideal for firearms with tight tolerances—it works on steel, aluminum, plastics, and polymers.

"Cerakote is a permanent ceramic finish designed to last the lifetime of the firearm. No other firearm finish will achieve 2,000 to 3,000 hours in a salt spray test."

The coating is oven-cured, rust-proof, self-lubricating, and scratch-resistant. Unlike liquid paints, it's a dry ceramic finish that bonds permanently during the curing process.
