Doug Taylor is an NRA Certified Instructor and approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to certify others. Students consistently mention his communication skills, organization, and actual knowledge of Minnesota law. He answers questions directly, calls students personally to confirm classes, and demonstrates safe gun handling that students actually want to emulate.
"As a past permit holder, I was able to take away new and educating information. The range testing was very comfortable and fun." — Brad
Can't bring your own gun? You can borrow a 9mm or .22LR from Doug—just let him know ahead of time.
Not ready to carry yet? The Permit to Carry class functions as a strong gun safety course regardless. You'll get solid education on safety, mindset, self-defense, and situational awareness.
How long is the class? 3.5 hours that move quickly. Students note the pace keeps people engaged without feeling rushed.
Minnesota Permit to Carry reciprocity changes over time. Hat Trick covers the current reciprocity map in detail during class so you know which states recognize your permit.
Whether you're buying your first handgun or already carrying, Hat Trick's instruction brings something. New owners get the fundamentals and legal framework. Experienced shooters pick up deeper knowledge about mindset and self-defense scenarios they haven't trained.
