Full description and what we offer
McCoy Hunting Ranch sits on 1,500 acres of rolling hills, timber, meadows, swamps, and flowing streams near Long Prairie, Minnesota. The McCoy brothers—Tom, Jack, and Phil—have been ranching elk since 1989, starting in Colorado before relocating to Minnesota. They manage one of the largest elk herds in the country, along with substantial whitetail deer and buffalo populations.
"You can't help but appreciate all the sights and sounds of the great North American Wilderness – the elk bulls bugling in rut, elk cows calling their young, the beauty of the birds and the majesty of a doe and her fawn."
You choose what matters to you:
Many hunters appreciate the two-day option—get away from the office, spend time with friends or family, and leave with your trophy. The terrain varies across the property, so you're stalking through different challenges depending on the day.
Elk bulls score up to and over 400 points. Whitetail and buffalo offer their own trophy potential. Field dressing and meat processing are handled through local partners—ranch staff takes care of the work so you focus on the hunt.
Hunts start at $1,700 with very competitive rates. All hunts are negotiable, and quantity discounts apply for groups.
Booking window runs September through March. Contact the ranch directly for current availability, specific pricing, and custom package details.
The ranch offers complete accommodations in a hunting lodge setting:

|---|---|
| Bedrooms | Private sleeping quarters |
| Kitchen | Modern appliances, stove, microwave |
| Bathroom | Shower facilities |
| Living areas | Common spaces to relax between hunts |

Tom, Jack, and Phil McCoy grew up on a Colorado farm working with livestock and operating ranch operations. That hands-on experience shows in the quality and size of their herds. Jack also operates a summer horse camp for kids and adults from around the world and manages substantial buffalo and horse herds in the Long Prairie area. The brothers' expertise in animal husbandry and ranch management directly translates to healthy, robust game populations and professional hunt operations.
