Old Vermilion Trail Hunting Preserve

Old Vermilion Trail Hunting Preserve is Northern Minnesota's premier sporting clays and hunting destination, located just 20 minutes north of Duluth. Spread across 450 acres of beautiful wooded terrain with rolling hills and natural wildlife ponds, this full-service facility welcomes everyone from beginners to experienced shooters.

• •Sporting Clays - The preserve features one of the most beautiful and interesting sporting clays ranges in the entire state, with a wide range of presentations across varied terrain to challenge shooters of all skill levels.

• •Trap & Skeet - A regulation skeet range and trap setup offer focused practice and competition opportunities (reservations required).

• •Seasonal Leagues - Old Vermilion Trail hosts both summer and fall league competitions where teams of 5-6 compete in friendly competitions.

• •Guided Pheasant Hunts - Beginning September 20th each year, the preserve offers guided pheasant hunts available by reservation through Thanksgiving weekend. Hunt slots fill quickly, with early pre-payment discounts available.

• •Summer Season (May 27 - August 21): Tuesday-Thursday, Noon to Dusk

• •Fall Season (September 27 - October 26): Weekends only, 10 AM - 3 PM

• •Winter: Closed (reopens spring dependent on weather)

Pheasant hunts available six days a week (closed Mondays) with starting times at 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Call 218-721-3804 to make pheasant hunting reservations.

Membership is optional but offers discounts on all shooting activities, ammunition, golf cart rentals, and free patterning board use. Both Individual and Family annual memberships are available.
