Minnesota Gun Class - Roseville has certified over 50,000 residents for concealed carry permits. The operation runs a focused Permit to Carry course that combines classroom instruction with live-fire range qualification—both in a single session.
The Minnesota Permit to Carry course is your legal pathway to carrying a concealed handgun in 33 states. Successful completion makes you eligible to apply for both a Minnesota permit (valid 5 years) and a Florida permit (valid 7 years) by mail.
Class structure: - Classroom session covering handgun operation, safety rules, shooting fundamentals, and self-defense law - Range session with supervised live-fire qualification under instructor observation - One-day format (not spread across multiple sessions)
If you bring an unfamiliar handgun to the range, you can rent one of their firearms for $10 (ammunition included). This removes a common barrier for first-time learners.
You'll walk away understanding:
Your Minnesota Permit to Carry is recognized in 33 states. You can also apply for Florida recognition through the same course, which accepts mail-in applications.
Donald Raleigh is the Roseville instructor. He holds: - US Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) Certification - NRA Instructor Certification - NRA Range Safety Officer Certification - Front Sight training graduate
The curriculum itself uses USCCA's licensed training materials — PowerPoints, videos, and training books that are industry standard.
Who can take it: - Anyone 18 or older - U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents - Must pass a background check to receive your actual permit - Beginners to advanced shooters welcome (the course is introductory-level) - Residents of other states and foreign nationals can attend
After completing the course:
1. Take your course certificate to your local Minnesota sheriff's office 2. Bring a completed Permit to Carry application 3. Bring $100 in cash 4. Apply in person
Minnesota permits are valid for 5 years. Renewal requires taking the class again.
