Full description and what we offer
Loch Umbra Outfitters sits on private land carved thousands of years ago by glacial activity and the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. The Pleasants family has owned and hunted this brake since 1848—but here's the thing: they've hunted it sparingly, with conservation in mind. That means ducks recognize Loch Umbra as a safe resting place, genetically imprinted to return generation after generation.
The location is unbeatable. You're in the heart of the Mississippi Delta on the Mississippi River flyway—prime waterfowl territory.
"It's duck hunting with a tail-gating feel—camaraderie, comfort, good food, dogs, and ducks."
You launch from the Loch Umbra boat landing (steps away) and reach the blinds within minutes. After the hunt, Greenwood, MS is close by—grab a nap and hit the Alluvian Hotel bar or other Greenwood nightspots to top off the day.
Greenwood accommodations range from the 5-star Alluvian Hotel & Spa to Tallahatchie Flats cabins and standard motels.
Loch Umbra has been featured in Mississippi Outdoors (METV) and Primos Gamecalls' The Truth About Duck Hunting productions.
All hunts strictly follow state and federal migratory waterfowl regulations. Non-resident 7-Day Small Game licenses (covers waterfowl) are available through 1-800-5GO-HUNT.
