Run Your Gun Tactical launched in 2020 with a straightforward mission: equip civilians, law enforcement, and military personnel with the knowledge and skills to handle firearms safely and responsibly. Founder Jaron R. Smith—known as Instructor Smitty—combined his background in hospitality and customer service with his passion for firearms training to fill a gap in the market.

"Like many others, I launched a training company during the COVID pandemic. That year alone, over eight million individuals became firearm owners. I combined my background in hospitality and customer service with my passion for firearms to establish a company that prioritizes education, responsibility, and preparedness."

Since opening, they've trained over 800 students across multiple training tracks and expanded into consulting, firearms manufacturing, and specialized security lecturing.

Courses are structured for everyone from first-time firearm owners to advanced shooters. All classes emphasize safety, legal responsibility, and building the mindset of a self-protector.

• •MS or LA Permit to Carry courses – $125 per student. Covers applicable carry laws, legal responsibilities, restricted locations, interactions with law enforcement, and lawful use of force principles.
• •Practical Pistol – Foundational safety and usage up to advanced techniques
• •Dynamic Pistol – Movement and operational deployment
• •Red Dot Fundamentals – Red dot sight operation and integration

The carbine platform covered as both a patrol rifle (law enforcement) and home defense tool (civilian). Courses progress from basics to environment-specific operational usage. - Practical Carbine – Fundamental operations and handling - Dynamic Carbine – Movement, tactical deployment, and advanced techniques

Beyond standard pistol and carbine courses: - Workplace and House of Worship Threat Assessment – Security planning for organizations and faith-based communities - Active Violence Engagement Response Training (AVERT) – Threat response protocols - Stop the Bleed – Pre-hospital trauma response certification - Private lessons – Customized instruction for individuals and groups
