Swamp Donkey Properties sits 15 miles south of Vicksburg on the Mississippi River, operating one of the Southeast's most productive hunting grounds. The property spans almost 10,000 acres bordered by three miles of the Mississippi River and five miles of the Big Black River—a setup that holds roughly 2,000 deer annually with abundant food sources and minimal hunting pressure.
Since 2015, a professional biologist has managed the property to develop a balanced age structure. The result: bucks scoring 160+ and 170+ have been taken regularly, with hunters seeing 10-15 deer per hunt on average.
Duck Hunts - December and January mornings in flooded timber - $800 per hunter per day (minimum 2 hunters, 3 days) - Mallards and wood ducks, easy access for kids
Other Seasons - Squirrel hunts (February weekends): $1,500/person, $300 extra with dogs - Turkey (2 days): $2,000 - Gator (2 days): $2,000 base, plus trophy fees up to $5,000 for 12+ foot gators

All rates include 1-on-1 guide, meals, and lodging. Non-hunters can observe for $250/day.
Meals are handled by Rico McCloud, a chef with 25 years in fine dining who trained at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. The property offers first-class accommodations and a variety of terrain—mixed hardwoods, swamp bottoms, oaks, pecans, and planted food plots.
The setup works for everyone from families wanting comfortable box stand hunts to serious bow hunters pursuing lock-on situations in oak flats.
